Tim's Wk 6 - Stencil Technique Tags
Created: July 9, 2016 I'm taking the "Summer of Creative Chemistry" onLine class from Jennifer McGuire taught by Tim. These tags are part of Week 6. All 3 tags are die cut with Tim's Bookplate/tag die from white cardstock and use the same stencil "Tim's Flourish". I'm using "A Way With Words" dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs ("Memories" & "Laugh"), designed by Suzanne Cannon also available on Quietfire Design HERE & HERE And I'm using some quote and sentiment stamps from Quietfire Design ("Better Than A Thousand Days..."); ("You Can Never Have Too Much Fabric"); ("I Shut My Eyes..."); ("Jewelry Words" 6pce set)

Detail of Distress Pads 2nd generation monoprint background
|
Background created with a 2nd generation
printing by misting the stencil generously with water. Had some
really nice smudgy areas. Sponged similar colors all around then
various browns.
Inked through the ruler stencil (Tim's "Measured") using "Frayed Burlap". Ran the tag through my machine embossing with a tree branch stencil (Designs By Ryn ), hitting the high points direct to paper with the burlap pad. Sponged more yellows to lighten the tag. Misted with water to lift some color. Inked the Flourish stencil with Picket Fence dauber, misted with water and printed. Die cut the feathers (Spellbinders "Feathers on the Wind" set), then ran them through the dry embossing. Inked direct to paper with the various colors (same as background) Die cut the birds on branch (Joy Craft "Vintage Flourishes Birds"), inked with the edges of the pad. Adhered my die cut to the tag. Stamped the quote with the black and clear embossed. Added the green gauze ribbon. |
