TH 103 Day 5 - ECD Remember - The Rose Of Time - Season's Greetings card
Created: August 7, 2016 I'm taking the "Summer of Creative Chemistry" onLine class from Jennifer McGuire taught by Tim. This card is part of day 5 of class 103. I've been a little lax in doing my projects... but had a hankering to do this alcohol technique... This technique is called "Alcohol Texture Resist Technique" I'm using one of the "A Way With Words" dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs ("Remember"), designed by Suzanne Cannon also available on Quietfire Design HERE And I'm using a quote, sentiment and design element stamps from Quietfire Design ("The Earth Laughs In Flowers" 2pce set); ("God Gave Us Memory..."); ("Flourished Noel" 3 pce set);

I cut a piece of Yupo 4.5 x 5.75".
Applied a drop of various alcohol inks (Pool, Stream, Citrus,
Willow, Ginger, Butterscotch, Mushroom, Espresso, metallic Gold)
onto my felt applicator, then some blending solution and pounced all
over the Yupo. Continued to pounce, squirted some inks, continued to
pounce until I got the look I wanted.
When dry I ran through my embossing machine with Sizzix "Pocket Watches" embossing folder. Hit the high points with an Archival black pad and immediately wiped off the color. My pad was not juicy. Side folded a piece of Citrus cardstock (PaperGarden.ca). Adhered a piece of green/gold Sari ribbon around the Yupo and then adhered to card front. I had previously created an electronic silhouette file for the rose cut from watercolor paper, stamped with Distress "Candied Apple" and "Forest Moss", clear embossed. Applied the pads to my craft mat to paint the flower. Adhered to card adding the bow. Die cut the Remember from the green cardstock and adhered to front. Die cut the Capital alphabet set (Elizabeth Craft Designs) from the green and inked with the Forest Moss direct to paper. |

On the inside: Stamped the quote and sentiment, inking with the red all over and here and there with the green, clear embossed. Selectively embossed the rose background (Cuttlebug Anna Griffin "Rosa") using my hard rubber mallet. Sponged with a dirty red sponge over the high points and around the edges. On the left side: I wrote out one of the stanzas of the poem "A Rose In Time" by Bei Dao using a .01 micron black pen and my funky monoline on the green cardstock. Layered it to a dark green cardstock. "When the pen draws a line of
