ID: NSD Encouragement - ECD Believe - Golden Gate Bridge card
size: 5.5"w x 9"h

Created: October 23, 2016

I was commissioned to make an encouragement card for an up coming Mary Kay NSD. The Mary Kay color is pink, the symbol is a bumble bee and a new NSD is given a bouquet of yellow roses. Since we don't know when she'll become an NSD, I've included several years that can be inserted in the slots each year.

I'm using an A Way With Words dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs "Believe"  also available on Quietfire Design HERE

Love those roses... Using my favorite rose die Die-Namic "Heirloom Hybrid Rose". I first decorated my 90# Arches HP watercolor paper, saturating it with water and sprinkling with Colour Burst and Brusho's in all the yellow shades. Misted with more water and tilted here and there. Did the same on the other side. Allowed to partially dry and sprinkled with coarse kosher salt. When dry, brushed off the salt and die cut. I electronically cut some smaller roses as well. Tooled and shaped the flowers.

Cut a piece of white cardstock (5"w x 8.8"h) and ran through my machine with Cuttlebug Anna Griffin "Rosa" embossing folder. Hit the high points very lightly with Distress "Picked Raspberry" and then "Mustard Seed". Adhered to my pink Bazzill monochromatic card base.

Die cut the "Believe from a burgundy cardstock (Dreamweaver packaging...) and adhered to front.

Created the banner by adhering a piece of bright pink narrow ribbon on a curve. Stamped the letters (MSE "Retro Caps" alphabet set) using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Trimmed down, hit the edges with the pink pad, adhered to the pink textured cardstock, trimming it down and adding the picot edge. Adhered to ribbon then adhered a piece of pearl bead ribbon over top.

Adhered a piece of pink textured cardstock slightly larger than my inserts, cut slots on either side. Stamped the years (Just Rite "Large Number" set) onto white cardstock using the black and clear embossed. Trimmed down adding a tab on either side the width of my cut slots.

eCut a bunch of leaves (AlteNew "Peony Scrolls") from Brusho/Colour Burst decorated paper, stamped with the black, clear embossed. Adhered strategically.

Stamped  the bumble bee on white cardstock, inked with the black, clear embossed. Colored the body with a yellow colored pencil. Applied Quickie glue to the wings and sprinkled with Sitckles dry glitter "Star Dust". Fussy cut around it and adhered to front with 3D foam tape.

Inside: eCut the Golden Gate Bridge image from white cardstock, inked with "Tea Dye" and embossed with a sprinkling of  Emerald Creek "Thanksgiving" and "Oil Rubbed Bronze".

Created the background on white cardstock, using various mauves, pink, yellow and purple Distress pads. Cut a circle mask for the sun, then sponged the colors as needed. adhered the bridge.

eCut the "Joy" from white cardstock, sponged with raspberry and embossed with Distress "Worn Lipstick" embossing powder.

Stamped the rest of the psalm using Just Rite "Curlz" alphabet set, inked with the black and clear embossed.

"Joy comes in the morning - Psalm 30.5". The quote and the bridge has special meaning for her.
