ID: MC Sept16 - Easel Bottle of Wine - ECD  Celebrate, Happy Birthday - Wine Is Poetry card
size: 6"w x 6"h (easel closed)

Created: September 11, 2016
Modified:

I wanted to make some kind of wine type card... and I LOVE the song by the Kingston Trio (Bottle Of Wine) I guess it shows my age... BIG GRIN

I'm using several  "A Way With Words" dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs "Celebrate"; "Happy Birthday" 2pce set , designed by Suzanne Cannon (also available HERE & HERE).

And using a quote stamp  from Quietfire Design

("Wine Is Sunlight..." 4pce set)

The easel, inserts, leaves, and glass of wine were cut with my electronic cutter.

I lay 5.5" circles on my mat, overlapping them slightly and welded together, then cut from a deep purple cardstock. Scored and folded to create the easel. Cut a single circle in the purple and adhered to the front.

Created an alcohol background on my glossy photo paper I've been using for the past week... pouncing, using "Amethyst:, "Purple Twilight", "Eggplant" and some blending solution. Punched out a bunch of 5/8" circles and assembled in a grape cluster on a light lavender cardstock.

Die cut the lower case letters (Elizabeth Craft Designs) from the deep purple cardstock, several times to get all the letters I needed... adhered to edge of circle.

Found a wine glass image and cut from white cardstock. Colored with colored pencil. Inked all over with Versamark and clear embossed.

Found a couple grape leaves and cut from a previously decorated watercolor paper (Brushos and gold powder). Added vein lines to the wrong side of the cuts, then hit the right side, direct to paper, with a Distress mini pad "Forest Moss" to color the vein lines.

Die cut the "Celebrate" from a cream toned cardstock, inked with Versamark and embossed with Pearlescent embossing powder.

On the Floor: Stamped the quote on the lavender paper, die cut with the smallest Stitched Ovals (Elizabeth Craft Designs).

Tied a bow with a mauve Sari ribbon and adhered to floor with a glue gun to act as my stopper.

Punched out a 1.5" circle from the lavender cardstock. Adhered to floor.

Die cut the "Happy Birthday" from frosted Shrink Plastic and colored the frosted side with Prismacolor Premier marker "Parma Violet". Adhered to circle.

Adhered more of the grape leaves.

Added some pearl flourishes and as a final touch added faux stitching around the floor edge, first with a magenta colored pencil and then over that a white gel pen.
