ID: MC Sept16 - Alcohol Ink Mountain Scene - ECD Peace - Christmas Waves card
size: 5"w x 7"h

Created: September 2, 2016

Third card in the alcohol series... I was lucky enough to get a bunch of Kodak photo paper - the kind used in the automatic print machines in Superstore.... So I experimented with it. In theory using photo paper is not good with alcohol inks... but this paper worked beautifully. I think it's because it didn't have the 2nd layer (a thin film) adhered to it - it was the raw glossy paper.

I'm using an A Way With Words die from Elizabeth Craft Designs "Peace" also available on Quietfire Design HERE

I'm using a  quote stamp on the inside from Quietfire Design

("Christmas Waves...");

I scored and folded my lavender toned card.

Created my alcohol background - which started out as a sky... by applying inks to my craft sheet (Aqua, Stream, Raspberry, Snow Cap), adding blending solution, smooshed my glossy paper through the wetness. Used my felt with more blending solution to streak and move the color more, I was looking at it,  tilting it horizontally and vertically, and saying to myself, this reminds me of craggy mountains... so with a clean felt and more blending solution, I removed the color from the middle area. ABSOLUTELY LOVE the results...

Stamped the trees at the bottom (Just For Fun "Pine Forest") using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed carefully (the glossy paper does bubble if too much heat is applied, but when cool lays flat again).Die cut some pine trees (Dee's Distinctively "Pine Trees" 3 pce set) from white cardstock, sponged with "Pine Needles" and hit here and there direct to paper with "Forest Moss".

I wanted to put another of the mountain goats, but the images I had were too large, so opted for the eagle - love it (The Stamping Ground) inked with the black n white cardstock and fussy cut around it.

Die cut the peace from white cardstock, inked with Versamark and embossed with Emerald Creek "Soft Fallen Snow" embossing powder.

On the Inside: Stamped the background trees (Rosewood "Backwoods") using the black.

Stamped the foreground trees (Rosewood "Snowy Trio") using Distress Picket Fence pad and embossing with detail white embossing powder.

Used a dry brush technique and acrylic white paint to add snowy areas.

Punched a 3/4" circle and used it as a mask to paint the moon. Splattered some paint.

Stamped the quote using the black and clear embossed.
