ID: MC May16 - Yellow Rose - ECD Friends - A Treasure card
size: 5.5"w x 4.25"h

I got my newest batch of Quietfire Design rubber stamps and Suzanne has outdone herself AGAIN!!! I was itching to use the "rose" stamp... and the "Crackle background".

I'm using one of the "A Way With Words" dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs ("Friends") designed by Suzanne Cannon (also available HERE).

I'm also using a quote stamp and part of a sentiment stamp on the inside from Quietfire Design

("The Earth Laughs In Flowers" 2pce set); ("Crackle Background"); ("Always Be My Friend" 3 pce set);  ("Keep Calm and Call Mom" 3pce set)

Scored and side folded my white cardstock.

I immediately created an eCut file (no fussy cutting...) of the rose, cut from watercolor paper, stamped using Distress "Mustard Seed", then painted with Tombows and a wet paintbrush.

Stamped the "crackle Background" using Versamark, clear embossed. Created a mask to keep the outer border free of color and sponged various greens all over ("Bundled Sage", "Crushed Olive", "Forest Moss"), sprinkled and misted with water, dried.

Embossed the outer border using Sizzix "Zig Zag Stitch" border embossing folder. Lightly hit the high points with a dirty green sponge.

Die cut the "Friends" from white cardstock, inked with the Forest Moss, embossed with clear UTEE twice, then intertwined the tail of the rose to the word and adhered both to card front.

On the inside: stamped the quote inking the stamp with the olive and here and there with the moss. Clear embossed.

Used some post-its as masks, inked the rose border using the mini stamp pads in the mustard for the flower and the olive and moss for the greenery, cleaning off the upper portion of the stamp. Used Distress pads on an acrylic block and a moist paintbrush to add some color.
