ID: MC May16 - One Sht Wonder Card - ECD Happy Birthday -
size: 12"w x 5.75"h (open - flaps down)

Created: May 10, 2016
Modified:

I was in a mood to do one of these style of constructions, boy it took me all day... but am very pleased with the results. I even pulled out my Gelli plate to make the decorative papers...

Also using one of the NEWEST "A Way With Words" dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs  Birthday from ("Happy Birthday" 2pce set), designed by Suzanne Cannon (also available HERE).

I several quote & sentiment stamps on the tags  from Quietfire Design and to create one all my own... BIG GRIN I think I'll be using this version a lot...

("I Dwell in Possibilities"); ("Twirl & Enjoy" 3 pce set); ("Friends Are Those Rare..."); ("When I saw this..."); ("If I Had A Star...")

card open flat

I cut a piece of Bee Paper "Bogus Recycled Rough Sketch Paper" 12" x 12". Scored, cut away slivers and folded. Adhered edges to create the pockets. The left over pieces would have created the tags, but I decided to use white cardstock for the tags instead...

Used my large Gelli plate and applied dabs of acrylic paints (Delta Ceramcoat "Lilac Dusk"; Folk Art "Spring Green" & "Lavender"; Americana "Desert Turquoise" & "Royal Fuchsia"), brayered to blend then used one of my new tools (XiemTexture Comb Soft Flex) which I altered by cutting ever other prong from the large side of the comb, creating wave pattern through my paint, then printing onto 85# white cardstock, also making a 2nd generation print which I really loved. Used the 1st generation on the flaps, back panel and inside center small pocket and the 2nd generation every where else.

I wrote in my text following the contours of the scored design using a Copic 0.1 Multi liner black pen in my funky monoline style. Text: every Flower is a soul blossoming in nature. Gerard de Nerval

Adhered all my quilled elements from previous Wednesday quilling sessions... Also adding some die cut flowers (Elizabeth Craft Designs) cut from 85# soft finish cardstock and sponged with a dirty pink sponge lightly, then a brown Distress marker to accent the little nicks. Added various pearls to the flower centers. Created the leaf decorative paper from watercolor paper and all the greens from Colour Burst. Die cut with Curly Leaves die (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Final touch added the butterfly from my stash.

Back when closed.

Tag left blank for message.
Created electronic files of the flowers to cut with my Silhouette machine, then stamped and embossed them and colored with various mediums - either paint or colored pencils. (Altenew "Peony Scrolls")

P3 back.

Not sure if I will leave the tag in or out, the corner sits under the flower so it doesn't fall out. (Altenew "Lacy Scrolls")

P1 Inside

Die cut the Happy from Colour Burst decorated cardstock using some of the new Liquid Metals. Layered it off set onto a black die cut.

Added the eCut flowers and some lace trim to the flap edge.

P1 Inside

Die cut the Birthday from Colour Burst decorated cardstock using some of the new Liquid Metals. Layered it off set onto a black die cut. Added the eCut flowers

P1 tag

Die cut a bunch of Tim's tags from white cardstock. Stamped using Penny Black "Botanical Notes" inking the stamp with Distress markers, omitting inking the text, misted with water and stamped. Sponged the edges with a dirty brown sponge. Stamped the quote using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Added a brown/silver Sari ribbon

P2 Tag

I love this giraffe stamp... inked with Versafine Vintage Sepia and hit here and there with Black Soot, stamped and clear embossed. Fussy cut around it.

Embossed the tag using Cuttlebug "Animal Prints" embossing folder, hit high points with Scattered Straw" and some "Antique Linen".

Stamped the quote with Black Onyx and clear embossed.

Added the die cut leaves from my stash and the green/gold Sari ribbon.

P2 small tag

For the quote: Masked my main stamp "When I Saw This... masking off the word "Saw" and inking with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.

Inked my other stamp, masking off the text except for the word "made" with the black, and stamped in place. Clear embossed.

Stenciled the edges using a dirty pink and yellow sponge.

Tied a brown/silver Sari ribbon.

PS: since I didn't use a stamp positioner this time, my word "made" is slightly off set. Sigh!! Have to get around to making myself a Misti tool...

P3 Tag

Stamped the quote using the Black Onyx and clear embossed.

Used "Curly Leaves" embossing folder (Elizabeth Craft Designs) and my hard rubber mallet to selectively emboss around my quote. Hit the high points with "Bundle Sage"

Adhered the bird (Starving Artistamps "Eclectus #2") which I eCut, stamped and colored with colored pencils.

Added the purple/silver Sari ribbon.
