ID: MC May16 - Easel Lotus Koi - Have An Awesome Day - HB card
size: 7"w x 5"h (easel closed)

Created: May 24, 2016
Modified:

So I had these eCut stamped lotus flowers on my desk... and one of the challenges calls for dry embossing and another calls for real stitching - any kind...

I'm using  a quote and sentiment from Quietfire Design  and an electronic file available on the Silhouette onLine store

("If You Don't Believe In Miracles..." 3pce set); ("Happy Birthday Plain and Simple" 7 pce set); eCut File ("Awesome")

Scored and folded my green toned cardstock to create the easel. Adhered a solid piece to my front.

Embossed a piece of white cardstock using Elizabeth Craft Designs folder "Bark", inking one side with Distress "Broken China", misting with water and embossing. Repeated to get at least a 7"w pattern. Hit the high points lightly with "Cracked Pistachio" then lightly sponged all over with "Faded Jeans". Trimmed down leaving a border at the top and bottom. Embossed with Cuttlebug Anna Griffin "Climbing Rose" border folder. Sponged with "Crushed Olive".

Stained a piece of narrow beige ribbon with "Crushed Olive". Punched holes along the bottom edge and threaded the ribbon.

Adhered to card front.

eCut/stamped the Lotus flower (Altenew) on watercolor paper and painted with QoR watercolors. Adhered the 2 bottom flowers to card with 3D foam tape, then added some "Avocado" Liquid Pearl dots in the centers.

eCut the word "Awesome from white cardstock, colored with a Faber Castell Pitt pen, dried and inked with Versamark, embossing with Emerald Creek Hot Stuff "Kettle Copper" twice. Adhered to front. Added some letters (Elizabeth Craft Designs "Lower & Cap Alphabet sets) cut from black cardstock.

On the floor:  Stamped the quote onto white cardstock. Die cut with Elizabeth Craft Designs "Stitched Rectangles" manipulating the die to get the die cut size I needed. Sponged with "Broken China" around the edges. Adhered to floor with 3D foam tape.

eCut and stamped the koi (Designs By Ryn "Sea Creatures 2" set) on watercolor paper, painted with the QoR, applied Iridescent Medium to the body, and used a Quickie Glue pen on the fins sprinkling with Stickles dry Glitter "Star Dust". Adhered one as a stopper and the other on 3D foam tape.

Stamped the "Happy Birthday" using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed on white cardstock. Die cut with the stitched rectangles again manipulating the die, sponged edges with the olive. Adhered with 3D foam tape. Final touch added the pearl flourishes.
