ID: MC Mar16 - Easel Flourish Emblem - ECD Birthday Wishes - When I card
size: 5"w x 7"h (easel closed)

Created: March 8, 2016
Modified:

I was in a mood to do a very feminine and detailed card... I just kept adding and playing...

Also using one of the NEWEST "A Way With Words" dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs  Birthday from ("Happy Birthday" 2pce set) and Wishes from "Best Wishes", designed by Suzanne Cannon (also available HERE & HERE).

I used part of 2 quotes  from Quietfire Design to create one all my own... BIG GRIN I think I'll be using this version a lot...

("When I saw this..."); ("If I Had A Star...")

I created an eCut file using the outside configuration of the Cuttlebug "Flourish Emblem" die, piecing 2 together and welding the join, cut, then scored and folded. Cut another single piece and adhered to my front.

Stamped the "Happy Birthday" (Local King Rubber) with Distress "Pumice Stone" then sponged with Distress "Old Paper", "Antique Linen" and a touch of "Spun Sugar". I wanted something muted and aged.

Die cut 2 Flourish Emblems, one for the front and one for the floor. For the front I inked with Versamark and embossed with Pearlescent embossing powder twice. For the floor piece I left it as is - white cardstock.

Die cut the Anemone flowers (Elizabeth Craft Designs) from white 85# soft finish cardstock. Colored with Pan Pastels Pearlescent pink. Added vein lines with a Tombow light pink marker. Tooled the petals and then assembled. I used the centers from my stash created with Spellbinders "Bloom Three" die and added dots of Viva "Brown" pearl pen. Added a large green rhinestone center.

The carnation was from my stash created with rice paper. The rose buds are also from my stash created with a heart punch (7 petals), squished and rolled and adhered to green wire thread. Some leaves from the Anemone set as well as from a fern die colored with Tombows.

Tied a multi loop fork bow from pink/cream variegated Sari ribbon. Adhered a glittered heart button using a glue tool - shank removed.

Die cut the "Birthday" from soft finish cardstock, colored with a pink Tombow marker, applied Versamark and embossed with Pearlescent embossing powder.

Adhered all the various elements and my quilled pieces.

On the floor: Adhered the white flourish die cut.

Masked my main stamp "When I Saw This... masking off the word "Saw" and inking with Versafine Black Onyx. Stamped using a stamp positioner.

Inked my other stamp, masking off the text except for the word "made" with the black, and stamped in place. Clear embossed the whole quote.

Die cut the word "Wishes" using an off the edge cutting technique to leave a solid border at the bottom to use as my stopper. Used the negative of the die cut to color in the part of the word that wasn't die cut using a dirty pink Distress sponge . Scored and adhered to floor.

The butterfly is from my stash (Cottage Cuts "Filigree Trio"). Inked direct to paper with Distress minis "Shabby Shutters" then "Picked Raspberry" around the edges and a touch over the green area, clear embossed. Adhered a piece of rice paper under the butterfly and fussy cut around it. Used Quickie glue pen and added glitter - Bronze on the body, and a mix of Stickles Dry Glitter "Thistle" & "Star Dust" in the green area and just the plain Stardust on the other areas.
