ID: MC June/16 - Easel Cups - Sit Right Here By Me - HB card
size: 6.75"w x 5"h (easel closed)

Created: June 25, 2016
Modified:

I was in a mood to create a stacked cup kind of card... I had a basic cup image which I altered to create the double handle cup/mug. Love those kind of vessels... They hold sooooo much deliciousness, be it coffee, hot chocolate or whatever.

I'm also using a few sentiment/quote and design element stamps from Quietfire Design

("Garden Bench Collection" 4pce set); ("Find Yourself a Cup..."); ("Happy Birthday Plain and Simple" 7pce set); ("Crackle Background"); ("Butterflies and Dragonflies" 7pce set); ("The Earth Laughs in Flowers..." 2pce set)

In my electronic software (I use SCAL) I uploaded a basic cup image, enlarged and stretched it, copied and pasted it, flipped it , selected all and grouped it to create the double handle cup. I then copied the new cup, pasted it, and placed it inside my first cup, selecting all and welding.

I pasted the single cup and added a rectangle a little narrower than the cup width - minus the handles, and the height to create the easel. To do that, measure the height of the double cup image and double that height. Measure from the bottom of the single cup image and extend the rectangle to the calculated height.

Also paste a single cup image on the mat and add a small rectangle to the bottom edge to create your stopper.

Double check to make sure things are welded where needed. Cut from white cardstock.

Mask off the bottom cup and the handles with post it notes. Ink up the crackle stamp using Archival "Venetian Orange" and stamp, repeating to cover whole area. Remove post it from handles only. Sponge generously using Distress "Twisted Citron".

Reposition post its to color the bottom cup. Ink the rose flower stamp using "Picked Raspberry". Colored flower with Prisma colored pencils, blending with white and a Lyra splendor blender.

Stamped part of different quotes using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.

Set aside while creating the easel.

Scored and folded the rectangle portion of the easel.

Adhered my double cup image to the easel matching the cup on the floor so the handles are perfectly in line when card is closed.

On the Floor: Stamped the rose on the floor using the mustard seed and clear embossed. Colored with the Prisma colored pencils, blending with the white and blender.

Stamped the sentiment with the black and clear embossed.

Masked of the upper cup edge and sponged with "Crushed Olive".

Repositioned mask to color the rectangle area above the cup using "Broken China".

The stopper: Colored the single cup masking off the handles. Inking the butterfly stamp with Distress ("Mustard Seed", streaking with the "Pumpkin" and hitting the edges with "Barn Door", and body with the edge of pad "Ground Espresso"), misting with water, stamping and clear embossing. Repeating with upper butterfly.

Stamped the part of the quote with the black and clear embossed. Removed masks and sponged all around with "Seedless Preserves".

Added the pearl flourishes.

As a final touch added Flower Rain Dots (Cloud 9 Designs) to the top cup. The flowers are cut off from 2 flower ribbons. Added some die cut small leaves.
