ID: MC July/16 - Easel Sunrise Lily - ECD Happy Birthday - Friendship Isn't A Big Thing card
size:7"w x 5"h (easel closed)

Created: July 17, 2016
Modified:

I was dieing to play with these sunrise lilies from Heartfelt Creations...

I'm using an "A Way With Words" die from Elizabeth Craft Designs ("Happy Birthday ") designed by Suzanne Cannon and also available HERE

I'm also using a quote stamp from Quietfire Design

("Friendship Isn't a Big Thing" )

Scored and folded my "Aura Citrus" cardstock (Paper-Garden.ca). Cut another piece for the front.

Cut a piece of white cardstock, 1/8" smaller all around and die cut one corner using Tim's "Mixed Media" thinlits die set.

Using my craft sheet, applied blobs of Acrylic Daubers ("Picket Fence"; "Seedless Preserves"; "Wilted Violet"; & "Picked Raspberry"), misted generously with water and smooshed my cardstock through the paint creating a faux marble effect. Continued smooshing until my cardstock was completely covered. Misted with more water, then dried. Adhered to front.

Stamped my flower pieces on 90# watercolor paper in black and cut out. Painted with QoR watercolors, wet in wet to get things to bleed and create interesting patterns. Tooled the petals on a piece of fun foam with a large balled stylus, adhered the two layers.

Cut the stamen from black cardstock and applied glue to both sides in the ball area, then applied "Sunshiny Yellow" flocking. Tooled it to get everything to stand up. Adhered to flower center. Adhered the back piece to the flowers so they hold their shape.

Die cut the "Happy Birthday from white cardstock, inked with Distress "Mustard Seed" and embossed with Yellow embossing powder twice. Adhered to front.

On the floor: Those two flowers I didn't tool as much or put a backing on the flower so it could flatten slightly when closed. Added a large black rhinestone to the centers.

Stamped the quote using Versafine "Imperial Purple" and embossed with Emerald Creek Hot Stuff "Frosted Plum" embossing powder. Die cut the rectangles using Elizabeth Craft Designs "Stitched Rectangles" sponging the edges with the wilted violet. Adhered to floor with a double layer of 3D foam tape.

As a final touch added some small piece of purple/gold Sari ribbon under the flowers on the front.
