ID: MC Jan16 - Easel Quill - Art Deco Fan _ ECD Celebrate - Let The Beauty card
size: 8"w x 7"h (card closed)

Created: January 14, 2016
Modified:

I came across an easel Art Deco card on really wanted to make one too... And I wanted to use my other stencil Shift background I had made. You can see the instructions HERE

One of the NEWEST "A Way With Words" dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs ("Celebrate"), designed by Suzanne Cannon (also available HERE).

I'm also using a quote, sentiment and design element stamps from Quietfire Design

("Let The Beauty"); ("Twirl & Enjoy" 3pce set); ("Butterfly/Dragonfly" 7pce set)

I scored and folded my brown cardstock to create the easel. Adhered a piece of salmon toned textured cardstock (Tim's Adirondack stack) to the front panel.

Cut my fan pieces from a stencil shift background I made a while back (see pics below). Layered them on to the salmon cardstock with a 1/16" border, then on to the brown cardstock with a 1/8" border, and slightly more on the larger panel at the top. Adhered the smaller pieces together and then adhered them to the large panel using a piece of foam core on either edge that was cut at an angle, with the top being about 1/4" thick ending at the bottom with a sliver.

Adhered the fan to card front. Die cut (Spellbinders circle set) a circle from a left over piece of the circle stencil shift background. Layered it to a salmon piece and trimmed off the bottom edge of the circle and adhered to fan.

Adhered various quilled elements, a piece of lace and die cut fern leaves.

Die cut the word "Celebrate" from soft finish cardstock, applied Versamark and embossed with Pearlescent embossing powder. adhered to card.

I create eCut files of the butterflies, eCut from soft finish cardstock, colored with Pan Pastels, then stamped with Versamark and clear embossed. When cooled, wiped with a paper towel to remove the color from the negative areas. Adhered them to card front.

Stamped the "Your Day" using the black, clear embossed, die cut with a circle die, sponged with some green, layered to a brown die cut circle, scored between the words and adhered to floor to act as a stopper.

Final touch, added the filigree die cut butterfly from my stash (Memory Box "Kaleidoscope")

On the floor: Adhered a piece of salmon cardstock leaving a border all around.

Adhered a piece of narrow pale salmon ribbon and a string of pearl ribbon. Added a gauze bow using a glue gun and a flower button to the center.

Stamped the Quote on white cardstock, inking the stamp with Distress ("Dried Marigold") all over then here and there ("Cracked Pistachio" and "Ground Espresso"), clear embossed. Re-inked the stamp with Versafine Black Onyx and using a stamp positioner, stamped the quote, off set slightly. Clear embossed.

Die cut using Spellbinders "Wonky Rectangles", sponged some green around the edges, adhered to a brown layer cut on the edge of the die. Adhered to card with foam tape.

Colors used: base colors - Ceramcoat Delta "Blue Mist" and "Pigskin". Deepened the base colors with Folk Art "Aqua Bright" and "Georgia Clay", Ceramcoat "Laguna"

1st stencil (my own stencil) layer with Ceramcoat "Dark Chocolate"

Stencil shift: Ceramcoat "Blue Mist"

When acrylics dried, sanded all over.
