- Tri Flap - Text - ECD Happy Birthday - We Cannot Tell card
Created: February 21, 2016 There is a challenge calling for text only, no stamped or digital images... Love the way this turned out. One of the NEWEST "A Way With Words" dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs ("Happy Birthday"), designed by Suzanne Cannon (also available HERE). I'm also using a quote stamp from Quietfire Design ("We Cannot Tell... " 2 pce companion set);

Scored and folded my tri flap card from
white cardstock. scoring at the 2.5" mark from both sides
leaving the center area 6".
Stamped the text background (Impression Obsession "Script") on to white cardstock using Versafine Black Onyx. Cut it in to 3 equal strips and alternately adhered them to the 2.5" flaps I had created a couple stencils a while back from my own calligraphy using my Silhouette machine to eCut the stencils. The one for the front was cut from white heavy cardstock, inked on the front and clear embossed a couple times to make it water resistant.

Sponged Distress ("Mustard
Seed", "Wild Honey", "Crushed Olive" &
"Broken China") through the stencil all over. Removed the
stencil and clear embossed. Sponged "Ground Espresso" into
all the crevices and the letters. The went direct to paper with some
"Black Soot" in the letter areas only. Used a damp paper
towel to wipe off the excess. Cut it down to 1.5" squares,
layered on to red textured paper with a 1/8" border all around.
Then layered on to a strip of light green Bazzill cardstock. Adhered
to flaps.
Raided my stash for the die cut Hybrid Heirloom Roses (Die-Namics) colored with Brusho's. Die cut the foliage from heavy Soft Finish cardstock and colored with Pan Pastels. Die cut "Happy Birthday" from white cardstock, inked with Versamark and embossed with Emerald Creek Hot Stuff "Soft Fallen Snow" (love the texture...) Adhered all my decorative elements, then added a couple snips of brown/silver Sari ribbon

On the inside: used a Gelli Plate print of another stencil I had made from my own calligraphy (from clear plastic), die cut with Spellbinders "Floral Ovals". Adhered to a die cut red textured oval (Spellbinders Grand Ovals). Adhered to inside of card. I had some of the Gelli Plate paper left over so die cut the flowers (ECD "Bunch of Flowers 2"). Added an orangey center with Liquid Pearls. |
