ID: MC Dec16 - Easel Celestial Sky 3D Stars - ECD Believe - If I Had A Star card
size: 7"w x 5"h (easel closed)

Created: December 4, 2016
Modified:

This sky was done in one of my demo days with the gals and has been languishing on my desk...

I'm using an A Way With Words die from Elizabeth Craft Designs "Believe" also available on Quietfire Design HERE

I'm using a  quote  stamp  from  Quietfire Design

("If I Had A Star...")

Scored, and folded my dark blue card to create the easel.

Created the Celestial Sky (see step by step pics below)

created and electronically cut the 3D stars from white cardstock. Painted with Distress dabbers acrylic paint "Tarnished Brass". Adhered to front.

On the floor:

Die cut the word "Believe" from a dark blue cardstock and a white cardstock. Inked the dark blue one with Versamark and embossed with Emerald Creek "Fractured Ice" embossing powder. Adhered the two together offset, then onto a narrow folded lip which acts as part of my stopper.

Stamped the quote onto white cardstock using Versafine "Black Onyx" and clear embossed. Die cut with a "Stitched Rectangle" (Elizabeth Craft Designs), moving the die to get a square cut out. Sponged the edges with a dirty blue sponge. Adhered it to a dark blue cardstock then onto the floor with 3D foam tape.

Adhered a piece of dark blue/gold Sari ribbon and added a black rhinestone flourish.

Sponge "Mustard Seed" in various places around the edge and working toward the middle on white cardstock.

Sponge "Picked Raspberry" over some of the yellow and in various white spots.

Sponge "Broken China" all over the edges and towards the middle.

Sponge "Chipped Sapphire" around all the edges and also working towards the center, leaving a lighter area.

Sponge "Black Soot" heavily in each corner and working around all the edges and towards the center, leaving the center very light.

Sprinkle water all over, leave for about 30 seconds, then blot up. Dry

Mix up some white ink or acrylic paint or gesso. I used my watered down Copic White Opaque ink on my craft sheet with a couple more drops of water to make it liquid. Dabbed my toothbrush in the wetness and flicked the ink over my sky to get very tiny dots.

Used the paintbrush to flick some larger dots.

Dried.
