ID: MC Aug /16 -  Easel Stacked Cut - ECD Merry Christmas 2 - Have Yourself A Merry Little card
size: 7"w x 5"h (Easel Closed)

Created: August 11, 2016

I'm using one of the newest  "A Way With Words" dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs which will be available soon ("Merry Christmas 2"); also available on Quietfire Design HERE

And on the floor I'm using a sentiment stamp from Quietfire Design

("Have Yourself A Merry Little..." 3pce set)

The stacked cut technique I'm using is something I saw done by Jennifer McGuire HERE

Since ECD dies do not have a blackout/shadow type layer, I used the die as is for this card, leaving more space between the halves. But if you stay tuned tomorrow I will explain how to get the Blackout letter... BIG GRIN

Cut 6 pieces of 65#white cardstock all the same size (a touch larger than 5 x 7" so it could get trimmed down when done). Die cut the word through 3 layers at a time, so the 3 layer was the placement for the next set of 3 cuts etc... Stacked the layers and cut through the middle, then started coloring each layer.

I sponged in order of the stacking with Distress pads ("Shabby Shutters"; "Peeled Paint"; "Forest Moss"; "Mowed Lawn' with a layer of "Worn Lipstick"; "Worn Lipstick"; "Candied Apple"). Adhered the layers together, of setting each one by about 1/8".

Scored and folded my deep green textured cardstock to create the easel.

Cut a white layer  and embossed with Elizabeth Craft Designs "Berry Branch" embossing folder. Trimmed down the stacked layers and adhered to the white embossed layer, then on to my card front.

Adhered the 6 layers of the Merry Christmas, in reverse order of colored layers. Adhered to white embossed layer using rolled up 1" pieces of Sookwang tape. (Cut equal length pieces of tape, and with your finger start rolling the edge, when rolled, form with your fingers into the sized roll needed and adhere to back of die cut to pop it up...)

Adhered a piece of dark green/gold variegated Sari ribbon. Tied a multi loop fork bow and tied it with a piece of red/gold Sari ribbon and adhered it to card with a glue gun.

On the floor: stamped the sentiment using Distress Picket Fence and embossing with white embossing powder.

Die cut the berry branch (Elizabeth Craft Designs) from the dark green cardstock. Adhered to floor to act as the stopper, then added berry dots using Liquid Pearls "Rouge".
