ID: MC Sept/15 - ECD Circles & Happy Birthday - Raindrops Fairy Whispers card
size: 7"w x 5"h

Created: September 10, 2015
Modified:

Elizabeth Craft Designs  (ECD) has been licensed to make dies of Suzanne Cannon's (Quietfire Design ) calligraphy. Today's card uses part of the "Happy Birthday". (or available on Quietfire here)

The "circles" die and the "Swirly Curves" embossing folder are also by Elizabeth Craft Designs.

The rubber stamp quote, is by Quietfire Design  and the Fairy is by Suzanne - an eCut available on the Silhouette onLine store

 ("Raindrops are like Fairy Whispers"); eCut ("Fairy");

I folded my white cardstock at the 7" point leaving 4" for the front flap which is then covered with my front piece.

Front: Stamped the raindrops (Designs By Ryn "Water Droplets") using Distress mini pads ("Tumbled Glass" all over, here and there with "Broken China" & "Faded Jeans") misted with water and stamped. Hit the high points with a Versamark pad and embossed with Pearlescent embossing powder. Trimmed down and adhered to a blue Bazzill pearlescent cardstock then on to the card front.

Die cut the circles from white cardstock, inked with Versamark and embossed with Hot Stuff "Soft Fallen Snow" embossing powder (ps this is a textured thick type of finish with a slight sparkle like you find on snow - really nice).

Created a shadow layer of the die cut (but you can fussy cut around it instead) and cut from a decorated piece of watercolor paper (see below for a pic and colors of this paper). Inked with the Versamark and embossed with clear UTEE twice. Then heated areas to adhere the outline piece from above. Adhered to card front using Best Ever Glue.

eCut the fairy from white cardstock. Colored the fairy using a black Pentel Brush pen. Inked the wing area with the Versamark, sprinkled with Hot Stuff "Turquoise Shimmer" embossing powder and brushed off the overlapping areas of powder, then heat set. Adhered to card front.

On the inside: Adhered a piece of blue/gold Sari ribbon at the join mark.

Stamped the raindrops again - same colors.

I had made a stamp from the circles die by cutting 2 pieces of fun foam, one of which had double sided adhesive on it, then stuck them together. Inked with the above colors, misted with water and stamped.

Die cut the "Happy Birthday" from white cardstock, inked with above colors, and embossed with the turquoise. Adhered to inside of card.

As a final touch I did some of my own calligraphy in a script style using a Nikko G nib and Sumi ink.

words: Splish, splash, you make my heart laugh.

Detail of front.

Sponged around the edges with a red sponge on the third page.

Stamped the house scene (Impression Obsession J7763) using the black. Colored with Prisma colored pencils. Added some Marvy Puffy Velvet white and heat activated.

Stamped the quote using the black and clear embossed.

Punched out and adhered a bunch of silver glitter paper snowflakes (Fiskars "Snowflakes" corner punch).

Stamped the bird image (Penny Black "Winter Song") - partial masking off the left edge and using the black pad. Colored with pencil colors. Adhered more snowflakes.

Final touch added red/gold Sari ribbon through each hole.

Brusho w/c paper background

Misted Canson 90# cold press watercolor paper with water, (both sides to prevent curling of paper). Sprinkled "Turquoise" all over, then a bit of "Cobalt Blue" & "Violet", misted with more water, tilted a bit here and there, then absorbed most of the wetness with a paper towel. Sprinkled with regular salt and allowed to dry.
