I love doing encaustic painting. Quick and easy to create a quick card...

The rubber stamp quote on the inside is by Quietfire Design  and the "Season's Greetings" die from Elizabeth Craft Designs also available on Quietfire Design HERE

Use a fry pan or electric skillet. Cover the fry pan completely in tin foil.
Cut another piece of tin foil, edges folded under and folded in half to create a platform to do your encaustic painting.
Use EnKaustikos hot sticks or Crayolla wax crayons to paint with. Temperature should be lowest setting somewhere around 150º. You'll know if your wax is just swimming too quickly... PS, don't forget you will probably be getting a reverse image so place your wax design accordingly...

Works best when put onto a thin Rice paper - I used Sumi-E Painting and Calligraphy paper. Also works with tissue paper, but you have to be a bit more careful. Experiment with different paper surfaces.
After painting on the foil, lay paper (for rice paper - smooth side down) onto hot wax image (above left image). Lightly brayer over the image to connect the wax to paper. Careful the wax is runny so don't press too hard and smear the wax. Lift paper off and the result you get is above right picture. Now this may not look so great as is... put trimmed down, adhered to contrasting or accenting cardstock and details added to the painting... PS with some papers the other side is great to use as well.

Side folded my white card. Embossed with Couture Creations "Mini Poinsettia" embossing folder.

I created my encaustic painting of the poinsettia, trimmed down and adhered to a red cardstock. Added Liquid Pearls "Buttercup" dots in the center. Adhered to card front.

Die cut the "Season's Greetings from gold glitter paper, adhered to front.

On the inside: stamped the poinsettia (Penny Black) inking the stamp with Distress mini pads "Mustard Seed" in the center, "Fired Brick" on the petals, and the edge of the pad "Mowed Lawn" along the pine sprigs and stamped.

Stamped the quote inking with the red all over and then touching here and there with the green, stamping, and clear embossing.
