ID: MC May/15 - Garden Path Violas - HB - Sometimes Said Pooh card
size: 5"w x 7"h

Created: May 10, 2015
Modified:

I saw a tangle type design on "A Little Lime - (A Little Net)" blog and started playing with it. The next thing I realized - it would make a great stencil... Then it started to look like rocks/stones to me and my garden path was created.

I'm using a sentiment stamp on the front and a quote stamp on the inside from Quietfire Design

 ("Happy Family Days" 5 pce set); ("Sometimes Said Pooh");

I side folded my cream toned cardstock. Adhered a piece of faux grass (found in a hobby store for train building...), leaving a 1/8" border all around.

Created my pattern, cut with my electronic cutter, and while on the mat, painted with Distress acrylic daubers (Pumice, Old Paper, & Browns). Removed the outline portion and inked with Versafine Black Onyx and embossed with Black embossing powder. Adhered to my card front, then started adhering the drop out pieces. Used an embossing marker and embossed with the black where the rocks meet the lines. Added white highlights using a Molotow fine tipped white pen, then spattered some black.

The violas (Memory Box "Blooming Violet") die cut from white cardstock and while on the mat, painted with acrylic daubers. Assembled and adhered to path, then added a dab of Viva Glitter Line "Silver" to the centers of each flower.

Stamped the sentiment on white cardstock using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Fussy cut very close to the script and adhered to front.

Added various colors of half pearls, anchoring them with Glossy Accents.

As a final touch, raided my die cut boxes and added the ladybug (eCraft Designs)

Inside Detail

On the inside: stamped the quote using the black and clear embossed. cut a mask from some tracing paper and stamped the violets (Stubby Stampers "Violet Cluster"). Masked the violets and stencilled brick background (Tim's "Bricked") using various dirty sponges (brown, red & yellow).
