ID: MC Apr/15 - Easel - Thanks Die - Give Thanks
size: 7"w x 5"h (card closed)

Created: April 9, 2015
Modified:

One of the challenges called for a split front... so I decided to use one of my newest stamps sets by Altenew "Lacy Scrolls" - really love this set.

I'm using some of the newest stamps/sentiments from Quietfire Design as well as one of the newest dies "Thanks"

Stamps: ("Thanks Cuddler" 7pce set); ("Give Thanks" 2 pce set);

Loving how this card turned out. BIG GRIN

I inked up my flower stamp with Distress "Mustard Seed" all over, then swiped "Picked Raspberry" in a streaky motion following the petal shapes, added a touch of Black Soot in the stamen area, misted with water and stamped onto white 110# Staples brand cardstock.

I made some masks of the flowers, leaves and scrolls and continued stamping. The leaves I inked with "Shabby Shutters" all over and streaked with "Mowed Lawn", misted and stamped. The scroll was inked all over with the mowed lawn and hit here and there with "Vintage Photo", misted and stamped.

Trimmed down the cardstock to create my split card, then created a kind of frame in fuchsia textured cardstock. Die cut the word "Thanks", inked with Versafine Black Onyx and embossed with black embossing powder. I re-inked the word using Versamark and re-embossed with the black giving me a nice finish on the word... adhered the edges of the word to the split images, then onto the frame piece. Stamped the "for everything" using the black onyx and clear embossed.

Scored and folded my easel, matching the split on the front piece which was not exactly half my easel structure... but no problem doing the offset score.

On the floor I adhered a piece of the fuchsia textured cardstock and trimmed down.

Stamped the quote on white cardstock using the black onyx and clear embossed. Trimmed down. Sponged edges with "Spun Sugar" and hit the actual edge with "Picked Raspberry". Adhered to floor with 2 layers of 3D foam tape.

Created a silhouette image of the stamps and cut with my electronic cutter, then inked the stamp as above and stamped. Adhered to floor to act as my stopper. did the same with the leaf sprig (ps just fussy cut around your stamping if you don't have an electronic cutter). Added some pearl flourishes. The did some faux stitching using a white gel pen (Sakura) and a black micron pen. As a final touch adhered a couple of pieces of ribbon and a yellow flower button using a glue gun.
