ID: MC Oct/14 - 3D Gate Fold Poinsettia - I Will Honour card
size: 5"w x 7"h closed (opens to 12"w)

Created: October 26, 2014
Modified:

I've been making a few styles of Gate fold cards lately... I wanted to do one with the heart detail poinsettia I created a while back

I'm using an Xmas quote from Quietfire Design as well as an eCut design available on the Silhouette onLine store.

("I Will Honour" ); ("Noel")

I scored and folded my red textured cardstock, then started making my white over pieces.

Used Martha Stewart punch around the page Layered Arches" for the front panels, trimmed them down and then embossed (Sheena Douglas "Holly"). adhered to panels.

Created a similar design for the inside and used my electronic cutter to make the frame. Adhered to inside. Stamped the quote using Versafine Toffee and embossed with Queen's Gold embossing powder.

eCut the poinsettia petals. For the open work ones I inked with the toffee and embossed with the gold. For the solid piece I colored with Distress "Barn Door, applied a layer of white glue and sprinkled with Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter "Regal Red". Adhered the layers together and added a large white oval pearl.

Die cut my various greenery (eCraft Designs "Berry Branch"; Memory Box "Holly Vine") from white cardstock and used Distress Mini pads in various greens. For the Berry branch added Liquid Pearls "Red" dots. Adhered all my floral elements, then added a few rhinestone flourishes.

Adhered 3 different ribbons together, a wide gold gauze, then a gold thread edged gold ribbon (both of these were wired), then the narrow gold/red ribbon using Sookwang tape. Adhered it to the back of the card and then created a picot edge (protecting the wires) on one end.

eCut the word "Noel" from white cardstock, inked with the toffee and embossed with the gold. eCut a shadow layer and colored with a black Sharpie marker. Adhered the two elements together, then inked with Versamark and clear embossed. Die cut the oval (Spellbinders), sponged with some red and adhered the eCut word. Adhered one end of the ribbon using a glue gun to the oval, then adhered a piece of red cardstock to the oval (with some give so that other end of ribbon could fit into it).
