MC Nov/14 - I.O. Snowflake Cards

size: 5.5"w x 4.25"h

Love the Impression Obsession snowflake, but am still having problems cutting it, even with my Crossover machine...

I'm using several Xmas stamps from Quietfire Design ("Let it Snow" large ); ("Merry Christmas Snowflakes" 2pcs ); ("Here and There"): ("Winter Wonderland" 6pcs)

The snowflake on this card was cut with a circular shim in the center on 110# white cardstock. Then run through several more times without the shim and I still had to use my rubber mallet... Not happy... I did not remove the die cut from the larger cardstock, then I picked out some of the die cut elements, hit the design direct to paper with Distress pads ("Salty Ocean" and "Tumbled Glass"), trimmed it down, put  a large piece of Sookwang tape on the backside, Edged it with "Chipped Sapphire pad, then and adhered to my card front. Sprinkled with Stickles glitter "Star Dust".

Stamped the quote with the Sapphire and clear embossed.

On the inside stamped the "Christmas snowflakes" using the Sapphire pad and clear embossed. Sponged some blue around the edges.

I side folded my white card. Cut a frame from decorative blue paper and adhered edge to edge on my card front.

Stamped the winter scene (Stampendous "Snowy Postcard" using Distress "Pumice Stone". Sponged a touch of blue

Die cut the snowflake from white cardstock, trimmed down to fit my stamped image and leaving a small border all around. Embossed using Cuttlebug "Holly Ribbon" embossing folder, first inking the negative side with Versafine "Toffee", running through my machine then thermal embossing with Queen's Gold embossing powder. Repeating the process to do the whole surface. Adhered to card front. To make the snowflake stand out more, I drew an outline using a Zig blue Writer.

eCut the word "Snowflake", colored with the Salty Ocean and Sapphire, removed from my cutting mat and clear embossed. Applied Quickie Glue to the small snowflake and sprinkled with the Star Dust glitter. Adhered the word to the card front.

On the inside, stamped the trees (Old Island "Timber Twins") several times, also using a mask to make smaller trees inking with Distress "Forest Moss" & "Chipped Sapphire". Used the mask again to sponge a bit of Pumice and blue to accent the hilly area. Stamped the quote and deer (Quietfire Design ) with the Versafine Black Onyx.
