ID: MC May/14 - Card in a Box Lilies - HB card
size: 7"w x 7"h (closed)

Created: May 10, 2014

So everyone seems to be doing these Card in a Box cards... I've held off till now, but one of the girls in my quilling group will be teaching it to the rest of us, so I figured I might as well make a couple... BIG GRIN Normally they are square, but I decided to do this one as a rectangle box.

I'm also using a sentiment and quote stamps from Quietfire Design, .

I cut my white cardstock to 11'w x 7"h, scored at 1", 5", 6", 10". Then scored it along the long side at 3" - the box is basically 3"h x 4"w x 1"deep and the flaps are 4"w x 4"h & 1"w x 4"h. The inside structure piece is 3/4" d x 4"w by about 2"h. It's adhered to the card while the card is in the open and flat stage on the right, then glue applied to the left flap and the box closed on to it, then the box tab is adhered.

I DID NOT fold over the back flap so when the box is opened the back flap stays up straight and becomes a backdrop for the scene.

I covered all my panels with a light yellow mulberry  paper leaving a scant border all around so it doesn't interfere with the creases.

The lilies I had eCut previously for a watercolor card I was making. It's a Michael Strong stamp, which I created a silhouette image and then eCut, then stamped with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed, then colored either with Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils and a wet brush, or Prisma colored pencils. When dry, I put a glob of glue on each stamen and pressed brown flocking in to it.

Stamped the text, quotes etc with the black and die cut with Spellbinders ovals or circle sets, then sponged with Distress "Dried Marigold".

I die cut the lace border (Die Versions "Crochet Lace") and adhered to the left side of the back flap.

Added one of my glitter butterflies (only have a couple left sigh!!)

When the card is closed, on the front I stamped the sentiment with the black, die cut with the circle die set and sponged with the marmalade.

Stamped the chocolates with the black, clear embossed. and colored with Prisma colored pencils then fussy cut around them and adhered to card. Wrote in my words with a Zig Writer, trimmed close, sponged with a dirty yellow sponge and colored some of the letters.
