MC Mar/14 - Side Step Snowy Egret - HB card
Created: March 7, 2014 My friend showed us a side step card she made with this snowy egret from Dee's Distinctively and I wanted that die... Sigh! Luckily Paper Pastimes had a couple in stock, so I bought one. I'm also using a sentiment stamp from Quietfire Design

I cut my cream toned cardstock 7"w x 10"h and cut down the length to about 1/2" from either edges. Scored the right side in half. Scored the left side at 1'2"; 1"; 2.5"; 3.75"; and 6.75". leaving you with a 3" left over piece. Burnish the folds well. I embossed another piece of cream cardstock with Cuttlebug embossing folders (Asian Bundle Koi"; & "Bird Call"). Trimmed them down. Put the Koi one on the right side edge to edge. Put the Bird Call on on the back mountain fold. It's trimmed down so when the card is closed everything is the same height. I die cut the Egret from an off white Bazzill Monochromatic cardstock and touched the edges with Distress "Gathered Twigs" & the legs with a Pumice Stone Distress marker. Die cut the grasses and fish from cream cardstock and sponged with Distress "Crushed Olive" for the leaves and dirty orange and yellow sponges for the fish, added little black eye dots. The bullrushes were electronically cut and colored with the brown and green Stamped the sentiment on another piece of cream with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed and trimmed it down. Sponged with a bit of brown and then the dirty red. Punched the border using EK Success "Brick Pattern" and cut them at an angle to fit under my sentiment. |
