Another accordion frame booklet - loving this style...

I found on the web a frame made out of accordion folds and was intrigued. I used the St Armand 150# very rough handmade paper again

'm also using a sentiment stamp and a quote stamp from Quietfire Design

I took an 8.5 x 11" piece of white 110# cardstock and smeared it with Distress "Gathered Twigs" to give it an aged feel. Then I used my Scor-It board and scored along the 11" side every 1/2". Cut it into two pieces 4.5 & 6.5'. Folded and burnished the folds. Then cut along the center fold line - so now I have 4 pieces for my frame. I used the Twigs Pad and ran it along the creases of the accordion both sides. The accordion folds slip into each other at each corner (but work one corner a time) and glue just the outside end pieces. Continue with the other 3 sides.

The cover for the booklet is the St Armand paper in a bright white. It has a natural deckle edge which I didn't want to cut away, so to get the size I wanted, I used my ruler and wet a paintbrush and ran it along the ruler a few times to soften the paper, then just tore it along the ruler.

I scored the paper for the cover, then the spine area, the back , another spine height and the flap.

I had a left over piece of the paper, so trimmed it down, misted with water and applied Distress Stains ("Mustard Yellow", "Broken China", "Picked Raspberry") all over, misted with more water and dried. I scored it to wrap around my front cover to hold my flap closed and glued it to the inside of the cover. Stamped the sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Die cut with Spellbinders Label 22, sponged some brown around the edges and adhered to wrap around. Punched a couple holes and added the pearl brads. Flattened the backs and adhered another piece of cardstock to protect the prongs from being caught by anything.

I liked the frame cover I made on the last booklet, so made another one, this time using Cuttlebug Cut Emboss folder "Brocade Window", hit the high points with the brown pad. Cut out the decorative element leaving only a straight border for the frame - the decorative part I used  as a frame for my quote. Adhered the accordion part to the card, then  adhered the decorative frame to the accordion.

Colored white cardstock with various Distress greens and cut out all kinds of leafy greens, adhered them to create depth and a scene. Die cut Tim's "Branched Tree", colored with browns and embossed with Distress embossing powders (Vintage Photo & Walnut Stain).

Die cut the birdcage (Memory Box "Carousal") and cut off the bottom piece (too large...), colored and embossed with Rustique Tin & Queen's Gold, massaged the cardstock to get a curve.

The tiny white/pink flowers on the tree were given to me at my last quilling session. I used a stylus to shape them and added Viva Glitter pen dots in Silver.

Stamped the bird on a flower branch (Local King Rubber "Asian Essence") using Distress markers to color the stamp, misted with water, then stamped onto my electronically cut outline of the stamp. Adhered it to the inside of the cage, letting some of it come to the outside.

The flower on the lower left is Spellbinders "Bloom Three" cut from a discarded calligraphy piece. Added an amber rhinestone center.

Die cut the butterfly (Memory Box "Pippi"), colored with "Picked Raspberry" & "Mustard Seed", embossed with Pearlescent embossing powder.

Stamped the quote with the black and clear embossed. Adhered to frame and then onto card.

Stamped the bird & flower - same Asian set and technique.
