ID: MC July/14 - Barn Board Azalea - HB2U card
size: 5"w x 7"h

Created: July 1, 2014
Modified:

I was in a mood to do some watercoloring... so printed out a floral image on 90# watercolor paper and used my Peerless watercolors.

I'm also using an eCut design (HB2U) and a quote and sentiment stamp from Quietfire Design

I started by applying Gelatos to the embossing folder (Spellbinders Bark/Bricks) misting with water, then placing my 110# cardstock in the folder and running through my machine. Dried. Then sponged and direct to paper using Distress browns. Trimmed them down and edged the raw edges with Walnut Stain, then glued them to create the frame, adding the large copper brads.

Side folded my cream toned cardstock. Cut a piece of tan cardstock to fit the wood frame piece and adhered to card front. Stamped the net background stamp (Penny Black "Warm Wishes set) using Versafine "Vintage Sepia" and clear embossing. Trimmed down and adhered to back of wood frame and then to card front.

Painted the flowers using the Peerless watercolors. Added some Pearl Pen details for the stamen, then fussy cut around the flowers and adhered to card with 3D foam tape.

eCut the HB2C from white cardstock, colored with a black pen and embossed the "2" with Queen's Gold embossing powder.

Added the glittered butterfly from a previous eCut project, adding the half pearls for the body.

On the inside stamped the quote - removing a couple Xmas words... using Versafine Black Onyx. Created a mask and stamped the woodgrain background (Local King Rubber) using Distress "Brushed Corduroy". eCut the bird/floral sprig, using a silhouette image I created then stamped (Local King Rubber "Asian Essence") using Distress markers and misting with water.

Stamped the Happy Birthday and "friend" with the black and wrote in the word "my"
