ID: MC Jan/14 - Accordion Swing card - Friends Are Those HB
size: 4"w x 5"h closed (16"w open)

Created: January 19, 2014
Modified:

I've done a couple of swing cards, but lately I've been seeing the accordion style swing card and thought I'd give it a try BIG GRIN. Very happy with the results and I think I'll make a heart one next...

I'm using this "Friend" quote from Quietfire Design as well as some eCut files available from the Silhouette online store.

I am giving away the "SCUT" file (Sure Cuts A Lot) for the card layout which includes the main card structure, the front cover layer and the over layer of the swing pieces. Stamps and eCut text are not included. Please note it's best to cut with the Silhouette Cameo machine. (&/or SVG files, but they need to be moved in position on the mat...).

PS I used 3 8"w x 11"h white cardstock for everything

I designed the card, scanned and cut all the components with my electronic cutter.

The front cover panels were embossed using Crafts Too "Leaves" embossing folder, sponged with Distress Salty Ocean" and hit with "Mowed Lawn" and clear embossed.

The swing pieces were sponged with Distress "Mustard Seed" and then flicked with "Picked Raspberry", embossed with Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" embossing folder.

The chain link connectors had the same process as the swing pieces, but then I hit the high points with "Frayed Burlap" pad.

The "HB2U" & "Hugs & Kisses" eCuts were inked with Versafine Black Onyx and embossed with Black Embossing powder.

For the flowers (There She Goes Clear Stamps "Dance") I first created a soild silhouette emgae, cut with my electronic cutter using Drafting Vellum, then stamped with the flowers using Versamark and embossing with white embossing powder. Adhered to card using Golden's Extra Heavy Gel Medium just in the center portion, leaving the flower loose. Added the white half pearls to each center.

The flourish leaves were from my stash (Marianne Designs) and I hit them with the Mowed Lawn. The butterflies are also from my stash - the glittered white one from Elizabeth Craft Designs & the red one is a Martha Stewart punch "Royal Butterfly".

The front layer I stamped the quote with the black and clear embossed then sponged with the same colors as above. Added the two very tiny butterflies from my stash. I think they were drop out pieces...
