Every once in a while I'm tempted to go in a direction that's not my norm... this was one of them. I had this urge to wrap some Sari ribbon around cardstock. And then there was this challenge that had an absolutely gorgeous (but weird) color scheme.

I'm also using a Birthday sentiment on the inside and a quote stamp from Quietfire Design

 Happy Birthday; In Creating...

The first thing I did was cut a piece of Neenah 65# white cardstock 4" x 5" and wrapped my brown/purple Sari ribbon around it every which way to get a random kind of pattern. Adhered it to a mauve toned Bazzill textured cardstock.

Side folded my white card to 5"w x 7"h, then cut off a piece on the front fore edge.

Die cut (Spellbinders "Floral Doily Accents") using my hard rubber mallet to cut the floral picot edge on the yellow cardstock. Sponged with Distress "Spiced Persimmon", then adhered to card front.

Adhered another piece of yellow toned leatherette cardstock on the left edge.

Used a crimper to crimp the orange toned cardstock and adhered that on angles and off the edges. Adhered the ribbon piece also off the edge.

Die cut the picot edge (Spellbinders "Inverted Scallop") from an orange toned Bazzil cardstock, then a circle from a marigold toned cardstock, then used the edge of that circle die to cut the aqua cardstock. Stamped the quote with Versafine Black Onyx, clear embossed, and adhered all the layers together.

Lay a piece of white netting over my Sari background, then adhered the quote piece. Tied a bow and adhered that.

Punched some circles using a 1"punch for the metallic blue, a 5/8" punch for the yellow. Adhered them off center and added a glittered adhesive bauble.

Adhered some blue mother of pearl buttons using a glue gun.

On the inside, stamped the sentiment with the black and clear embossed. Wrote in the word "chickie" with a Zig Writer.

Die cut the chickadee (Dee's Distinctively) using the same papers as on the front.
