One of my friends had brought in a birdhouse plaque made from wood that her husband made. I really liked it and decided to make a card from the idea, then I decided to make another card but using foam core.... I'll eventually make a wood one myself...

I'm using a a quote & bird stamp from Quietfire Design on the outside and sentiment on the inside.

PS I used Neenah Solar White 110# cardstock for all the leaves, bird & quote for this card. It's an extremely heavy weight cardstock.

I created the card shape, then cut with my electronic cutter and used it as a template to cut the acid free foam core.

Applied Distress Crackle (Old Paper) all over the front, when dry, sponged Distress "Walnut Stain" into the cracks. Cleaned off excess with a damp paper towel.

Cut, painted (Distress Paint) and adhered the roof & base edging. added a line of Viva Pearl Pen "Brown" to the seams.

Cut the card base from a sage green linen textured cardstock I recently acquired. Adhered the foam core to it.

Quilled my flowers from 1/16" quilling papers. Shaped them with a large balled stylus. Assembled them and added Flower Soft to their centers.

Quilled the small flowers (tight coils) and adhered to mini florets (Impression Obsession Die 140-D) from hand painted cardstock. Added little dots of yellow Stickles.

Die cut the branch (Sizzix Tim's "Bare Branch") from Grungepaper, painted both sides with Distress Paint "Walnut Stain" and streaked it with some "Black Soot". Die cut the leafy branches (Memory Box Lorelai Leaf"), painted with Distress Paint "Peeled Paint" and streaked with "Mowed Lawn" (both sides). Some I did in reverse coloring. Adhered the leafy branches to the Grungeboard branch, then adhered the florets. Adhered the assembly to edge of roofline.

Adhered the larger flowers using a glue gun. The leaves from the large flowers are made using a Poinsettia die and cutting it apart.

I had some drop out leaf shapes which I used on the base edging.

Stamped the chickadee on white cardstock with Versafine Black Onyx. Sponged some dirty grey/blue on the body, then fussy cut around it, adhered to bottom with 3D foam squares. The other bird was first stamped on to my Gelli plate and then a print pulled to get a reverse image... colored and fussy cut. Adhered to roof edge. added mini black rhinestone eyes.

Cut my unmounted stamp apart and stamped using the Versafine Black Onyx first the word "Sing" & clear embossed, fussy cut around it, then  stamped the rest of the text, clear embossed and fussy cut around that and adhered it to the base.

On the inside I stamped the "Happy Birthday" and the Chickadee with the black.

Added a bunch of die cut leaves and florets to cover the backs of the large flowers.
