ID: MC Nov/13 - 4 Drawer Keepsake - In Creating
size: 5"w x 7"d x .75"h

Created: November 9, 2013
Modified:

I recently saw something similar on Pinterest and had an itch to make one... But do you think I can find the link now...

I'm using  a couple quote stamps from Quietfire Design "You can never have enough Fabric" & "In Creating the only..."

I first constructed my drawers using various cracker packaging and making sure the size when done would create a 5" x 7" card. I gave the drawers a couple coats of gesso and then painted with bright colors using Chroma watercolors. On the insides I used a neutral yellow. I then created the outside covering for each drawer from white bristol board. Then I placed the floor of my easel using 110# Neenah Solar White cardstock and adhering all four drawers. I covered this with lace scrapbook papers. Stamped the quote with Versafine "Black Onyx", clear embossed. Adhered some decorative buttons as my stopper.

Electronically cut my mannequin (this is a design I previously used based on a rubber stamp by Loralie Designs). hand drew in my lines with a black Zig Writer. Sponged with Distress "Antique Linen" and a touch of a dirty pink sponge. Adhered the dusty rose Rose ribbon, removing the gauze from either side which I reused on the head sections and the fringe on the bottom. Added a narrow pink ribbon bow, a pearl flourish and faux stitching done with a pointed pen and a mix of my Copic white with Distress Stain brown.

The front of the easel was stamped with various lace stamps, first with Stampin Up Hellow Doily" using Distress "Antique Linen" and clear embossing. Using a mask, then stamped the black lace - my newest acquisition (Designs by Ryn "Flowers Lace 2") using "Black Onyx" and clear embossing, then stamped the other lace (Donna Salazar), masking the first two and stamping with Distress "Gathered Twigs" and clear embossing.

The leaves are another acquisition from Designs by Ryn "Ornate Leaves". I made silhouette images and electronically cut a bunch. Sponged various colors of Distress in Scattered Straw, Wild Honey & some Forest Moss. Dried, then stamped with Versamark and clear embossed. When cool, sponged heavily with the Moss.

Stamped the sentiment with the black and clear embossed. Adhered my various elements, the leaves, flourishes (Dee's Distinctively "Flourish Set 2") from some previous decorated papers (Xmas Balls Joy), mannequin etc.

Added faux stitching with my Copic mix and pointed pen.

as a final touch added some lace paper to the drawer edges that were only showing white faces.
