ID: MC Jan/13 - Quill Fringing - Just Because card
size: 5.5"w x 4.25"h

Created: January 12, 2013
Modified: March 21, 2013

I'm still designing samples for classes I'll be teaching starting in March and this is one of the samples which uses fringing dies.

It's very similar to one I made yesterday, but this is a smaller version. Love that teacup...

Using one of the 10 tiny tag sentiment stamps "Just Because" from Quietfire Design .

The main card is cream toned, side folded. I used a Craft Concepts embossing folder (Weaving Block set) for the background. Then lightly touched the high points with a sponging tool and Distress Walnut Stain pad.

Adhered the brown/white polka dotted ribbon.

Next layer is the lace piece. I created a silhouette image and cut with my electronic cutter from white cardstock, then stamped (Just Rite "Lace Medallion Labels" set), with Versafine toffee and embossed with white embossing powder. Sponged with Distress (Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, lightly with Dried Marigold, and the edges with Walnut Stain).

The cup (gg designs) is stamped on white cardstock with Versafine Vintage Sepia and clear embossed, colored with Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils and activated it with a water brush, then cut close to the image. Cut a slit to insert my branches. Branches (Memory Box "Leafy Branch") die cut from dark brown cardstock.

Die cut the fringes (Quilled Creations "Mum" die set) from Reader's Digest pages then rolled them around a bright yellow center, then added a small half pearl. The white fringed flowers are die cut from Arches Text Wove paper - a really great paper for quilling.

Stamped my sentiment with Vintage Sepia, clear embossed and die cut with Spellbinders "Fancy Tags", sponged with some Walnut Stain, then trimmed the flourished ends off and re-adhered them to get the size I wanted...
