MC Dec/13 - Finches - May You Have Card
Created: December 14, 2013 A friend gave me an Xmas card that used this Cheery Lynn die "Princess Garden Window", and I really liked it, so created something of my own... I used an Xmas quote stamp, continuing it inside from Quietfire Design |
I eCut the decorate frame, cutting out the middle from cream toned cardstock, then embossing it with Pearlescent embossing powder, sponging Distress "Old Paper" all over it and into the crevices from the first embossing, then clear embossing. Stamped the bird image (Flourishes "Snow Wonderland") and coloring with Prisma colored pencils. Added a bit of snow on the pine branches using Deco Art Snow Writer and sprinkling with Distress "Star Dust" glitter. Trimmed it down to fit in my frame opening and adhered it to the back. Layered this to a C'ordinations brown textured cardstock trimmed down to fit under the border of the frame, adhered to the back, then onto the card. Stamped the poinsettia petals (Flourishes "Poinsettia Boxwood" set) onto vellum using Versamark pad and embossing with white embossing powder. Cut out and colored the backs with Prisma colored pencils in a reddish tone and blended the colors with a Spectrum Noir blending pencil. Cut out each petal and shaped them using a very large balled stylus. Adhered them to a small circle using Golden's Soft Gel medium. Added the large amber half pearl in the center. Set it aside to dry. Die cut the pine branches (Cheery Lynn) from cream cardstock and pressed them into a Distress "Pine Needles" pad, then embossed with Distress "Shabby Shutters" and some Zing "Metallic Green". |
Inside Stamped the first part of the Xmas quote on the front using Versafine "Vintage Sepia" then hitting here and there with "Black Onyx", clear embossed. Added more amber half pearls on each corner and on the central diamond area. As a final touch adhered some die cut/glittered snowflakes I had left over from the calligraphy card making class I did last week. |
eCut a silhouette image
of the poinsettias (same set as above), inked up my stamp using
Distress markers, misting it and stamping onto my cut flowers, then
using Derwent Inktense watercolors and a water brush to continue
coloring the flowers. Adhered to card where necessary and trimmed
off excess. Added the rest of the flower on the right hand edge. |
