ID: MC Sept/12 - Wood Chip Border - Season's Greetings cards
size: 5"w x 7"h

Created: Sept 6, 2012

I've been using my router to build shelves in my new art room and the chips that flew out were just so glorious. Soft and fluffy and I said to myself I have to do something with them... My friend came over and said stick 'em to some Sookwang, so that's what I immediately did. Then I sprayed them with Dylusions spray inks, and sprayed onto the rest of the cardstock too. I needed a darkish color for the next step... I added the greeting (see below) and that's where it stayed until today...

I'm using an Xmas stamp greeting from Quietfire Design

I used the Cuttlebug "Holly" embossing folder, putting it at various angles through my machine to emboss all the edges. Sponged some Distress Scattered Straw, then hit the edges with Vintage Photo.

I stamped the sentiment on the background piece, misted with water first, to lift the color, blotted with a paper towel and dried. Then over stamped with Versafine Black Onyx. Love the ghost image.

I cut the Sookwang tape creation into strips to create the border.

Die cut the holly and berries (Sizzix Tim's "Holly Branch") from cream toned cardstock, applied Distress Greens (Evergreen Bough & Pine Needles) on both sides. Applied Rock Candy crackle on one side, let dry, then sponged Vintage Photo. I allowed the leaves to stay curled and adhered it only along a spine edge.

The berries I colored red with a Spectrum Noir pen, then applied a coat of Glossy accents.
