ID: MC Sept/12 - Candle - I Will Honour card
size: 5"w x 7"h

Created: Sept, 2012

Picked up another great die, this time from Dee's Distinctively, the die image shows it as a pair of candles, but I decided to only use one for this card.

I'm also using one of the newest Xmas 2012 stamps from Quietfire Design

Love the clean look of this card.

I put a piece of Sookwang tape onto some white cardstock and cut the body and flame of the candle. On the flame elements I used Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter in a gold and copper/red tone. On the body I used holeless gold beads, pressed them down, then sprinkled some of the gold glitter.

Die cut the dripping wax from another piece of white cardstock and smeared Dreamweaver Pearlescent paste in a streaky way to mimic the wax dripping...

Side folded my white card, embossed the frame design by cutting apart a Cuttlebug embossing folder from the Heritage set, lightly taping one part on the front, then holding up to the light to match the back part, lightly taping that, then running through my machine. Hit the high points with a Perfect Medium pad and embossed with "Silver Fire Opal" embossing powder. Embossed the area around the frame with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and my rubber mallet.

Die cut the holly leaves and berries (Sizzix, Tim's "Holly Branch"), the holly leaves from some decorated cardstock that was dry brushed with green acrylic paint, which I then sponged some Distress "Pine Needles" & "Walnut Stain", cut some of the longer stems away to fit the card, then adhered to card. The berries from white cardstock, painted with red watercolor and when adhered to card, add Glossy Accents.

Stamped the quote with Versafine Vintage Sepia and hit parts of it with Black Onyx to give a nice two tone effect.
