A friend mentioned a product to me I had never heard of before and I was intrigued - Inkodye which are liquids and when exposed to UV, the color comes out. She hadn't used it either, so we were in the dark... as far as knowing if it really worked or not. So I ordered some and got it the other day. Today we had a nice sunny afternoon - perfect for these inks.

I'm using a quote stamp from Quietfire Design

I used black acrylic paint on a piece of .007 clear plastic for my leaf design. A Sharpie or other alcohol based pen can be used, but I find it's easier to paint out all the little spots a Sharpie creates. I set my negative aside.

I taped a piece of white cotton to my craft sheet, then painted on the Inkodye. it comes in 3 colors, that I think are orange, red (or maybe pink) and blue. Wish there was yellow... Anyway I painted the orange in a streaky fashion, then streaked the red (which really looks like pink), lay my negative over it, and then a piece of glass to hold everything down. Set this outside in the sunshine and 10 minutes later, brought it inside. Rinsed/washed it thoroughly. And that's it. I also dried it with my heat gun and then ironed it, not necessary, but I was impatient. Used a zig zag rotary cutter to trim my fabric.

Stamped the zig zag stitch (Tim's "Spring Sprung") with Versafine Black Onyx. Stamped the quote with the black and clear embossed it. Adhered it to a piece of textured green cardstock. Put a bunch of tiny yarn scraps onto a 5/8" punched circle with some Golden's Soft Gel Medium, punched a hole through it and the leafy piece, then attached the yarn circle with a gold leaf brad.

Embossed my white card front with Crafts Concept "Leafy Flourish" embossing folder. Sponged Distress around all the edges (Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold, Vintage Photo, Crushed Olive). Adhered my leafy piece.
