MC March/12 - Quill - Friends Are
Those card
Created: March 17, 2012 I was playing with an EK Success Punch (Scroll Pattern) which I just love and decided to create a silhouette image to cut with my electronic cutter. I created a border pattern which I cut out from white cardstock and used as a stencil first (that's for another card), then embossed the stencil with clear embossing powder (that will be for a 3rd card... and this card was made with the negative pieces left on my cutting mat. I lay a piece of 5"w Sookwang tape and picked the pieces up - carefully. I then sprinkled Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter Chartreuse and then Sweet Basil, burnishing between colors. I'm using a sentiment stamp from Quietfire Design

To continue with the frame, I then
brushed Blue Raspberry Perfect Pearls all over which adhered to some
of the glitter areas. I then lightly sponged some Distress Faded
Jeans over the white areas. I adhered it to a dark green card. Stamped the dots (Glitz Design "Distressing" set) at the bottom with Versafine Olympian Green and embossed with Green Patina. Adhered the metallic bright green ribbon at the edge of the frame. Punched from white cardstock a large Sakura flower and a couple of retro flowers, sponging the edge of the large one with the Faded Jeans and heavily sponging the bottom layer and a lighter sponging of the top layer. Also stamping a text stamp over them. Adhered to ribbon with Golden's extra heavy gel medium. Colored a large half pearl with a Bic alcohol marker and added it to the center. |
Punched out a bunch of retro flowers and used the
negative of the punch out as a stencil, sponging some of the blue in the open
square area, masking the outer areas. Hit the edge of the flowers with some of
the blue. Sponged Scattered Straw and Dried Marigold on a piece of white
cardstock and punched out the small Sakura flowers. Adhered the two
together, used a large balled stylus to form the petals and adhered them to
card. Added the bluish half pearls. Stamped the sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx and cut out, nicking the corners. |
