ID: MC June/12 - Floral Screen - Music card
size: 5"w x 7"h

Created: June 14, 2012

I came across this large plastic floral/butterfly screen in Dollorama and thought it would make a great stencil... and it did. I scanned the portion I was going to use and created a negative image, adjusted some of the design so my new stencil/mask would stay in one piece, cut with my electronic cutter, lay it on my white cardstock and rubber stamped the music background stamp (Cornish Heritage Farms) with Versafine Black Onyx. Then overlayed the original screen and sponged Distress colors (Shaded Lilac, Broken China, Evergreen Bough & Squeezed Lemonade) misted with water and dried.

I'm using the Music stamp quote from Quietfire Design

Trimmed my background piece and brushed the Evergreen Bough pad against the edges. In the areas where my quote was going to overlay on the sheet music background, I applied Picket Fence stain to soften the understamping.

Stamped my quote with the black and clear embossed. Adhered the blue lace ribbon and the circle dotted cream ribbon. Colored a scrap piece of cardstock with Seedless Preserves and sprayed with Perfect Pearls "Perfect Pearls" mist, dried and die cut with the floral die (Memory Box "Petal Party"). Layered the two die cuts with two punched circles, one colored with the Lemonade & the other with the Broken China, and a hand glittered brad, through the ribbons and background.

Hand glittered a small brad for the bottom flower and used a dotted brad for the larger top flower, also layering punched circle under the brads.

I adhered some decorative paper on cardstock and die cut the butterfly (Memory Box "Vivienne").

Punched out the corners with an EK Success "Bubbles" corner punch.
