ID: MC June/12 - Crayon Art - Whimsy - Friends Are card
size: 5"w x 7"h

Created: June 30, 2012

I had a wonderful play day with a friend melting crayons... She had seen a card I made a few months ago using melted crayons and wanted to try it, so we were experimenting with various techniques. I then made cards with my creations, this being one of them.

I'm using another fabulous quote stamp from Quietfire Design

This background was a pleasant surprise and it's also the back of the piece I was working on. I had melted crayons on my dirty craft sheet, lay my cardstock over it and ironed away. It picked up the colored texture of my mat and I loved the splotches. The front side was more harsh. I just loved the whimsy of this background.

I die cut the word Friends (Tim's Sizzix Movers and Shapers die) into the background. Die cut another one from some black cardstock and off set the two pieces giving it a shadowed effect. I then layered these onto my red cardstock, then onto the yellow, then the blue and finally on to my white card. It's extremely rare I do this much layering, but I was really into the whimsy of it. BIG GRIN.

Stamped my quote with Versafine Black Onyx.
