I had a wonderful play day with a friend melting crayons... She had seen a card I made a few months ago using melted crayons and wanted to try it, so we were experimenting with various techniques. I then made cards with my creations, this being one of them.

I'm using one of t he latest sentiment stamps from Quietfire Design

I ironed my melted crayon from my cardstock onto my craft mat, then placed a piece of glossy cheap paper onto the craft mat and ironed it to pick up what was on my craft sheet. When I picked it up it reminded me of butterflies taking flight, so I found a butterfly stamp in my collection that had the same basic shape and size and was an outline rather than a solid stamp. Stamped with Versafine Black Onyx. There was the shape of a smaller butterfly above it, so I die cut a couple of small butterflies (Sizzix Tim's Movers & Shapers die & Joy Craft Butterfly Border set) from decorated papers I had laying around and adhered them together, adhered it to the card when the card was done.

Die cut the glossy paper with Spellbinders "Romantic Rectangles" enlarging it width wise by one design element. Cut it at about the 3/4 way down and adhered the two pieces to my purple toned card. In the space between the two pieces I placed some Sookwang tape and did an abstract kind of gathered technique with the purple gauze ribbon.

Stamped the sentiment with the black and die cut with Spellbinders oval die, sponging some Distress around the edges with a dirty purple sponge, then die cut a matching beaded oval from a rosy pink cardstock.
