MC Jan/12 - Shaped - Clear 2 Hearts
- Origin card
Created: February 12, 2012 Love the way this turned out, although until I needed a shaped card, it didn't quite look like this... And I'm using a quote from Quietfire Design.
I think this Hero Arts flower from the "Luscious Frames" set is my favorite flower stamp - and I have hundreds of flower stamps... |
So I created the base layer for my
stamped flowers and quote area in Sure Cuts A Lot software, using
silhouette image of the flower and welding the various elements. Cut
from white cardstock, then cut a couple of the flowers to use as
masks. Masked and stamped the flowers with perfect Medium and
embossed with white embossing powder. Then did the same to the mask
pieces. Painted with watercolors giving the red intensity in the
center of the flower and becoming pale pink toward the edges.
Stamped the quote with Versafine Black Onyx. I then manipulated the design to get a shadow of the flowers and an equal border around the rectangle piece. Cut out from red cardstock. Adhered the two layers together, keeping the petals free. Then adhered the masking flowers, off set a bit and shaping the petals to stand up. Added the gold rimmed half pearl in the centers and the little black rhinestones at the corners. Used the Spellbinders Classic Hearts die set to cut my heart shapes in my clear card. Then using the die, cut the inner shape from heavy textured Mulberry paper. Adhered to clear card shape with Glossy Accents. Then adhered the floral/quote layers. Made some little black bows and adhered them to the indent in the hearts. |
Punched out the little butterfly using Martha Stewart Monarch punch and Washi paper I got from Hanko Designs. Also punched one from some white cardstock. Layered the two at the body and then onto the card. |
