MC Feb/12 - Not a bowl of Cherries card
Created: February 15, 2012 I decided to challenge myself (till the end of March - maybe longer) to only use scraps of paper and cardstock from my stash(es). The only exception would be for the card base itself, although for this one I also used one of the pre-folded card bases I have lying around. surprisingly enough, I'm not using a quote from Quietfire Design this time. A rarity.

I used 3 pieces of red textured off
cuts from other cards and trimmed them down. Adhered to card leaving
separations between the strips. On the bottom one I added a canvas
printed ribbon which had the words "hugs & kisses on it" (also been
laying around for eons.). I then went in with a bluish Sakura Glaze
pen and filled in some letters and went over a couple others.
Punched some medallions using an EK Success Deep Edge "Le Medallion" punch from white cardstock, cut them apart, ran them through my embossing machine with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, then hit the high points with a dirty red sponge applicator. Gave it a pinky tone. Adhered them to the card. Added the rectangular rhinestones. |
Punched out rectangles with two sizes of square
punches from my Paper Roots gift wrap stash. Adhered them to the third strip on
the card, off set and on an angle. Created a stamp silhouette of the cherry branch (Flourishes #59 Peaches & Cherry set), cut with my electronic cutter from white cardstock and then stamped it with Versafine Black Onyx. Painted with watercolors, when dry, applied Glossy Accents to the cherries. Set aside to dry, then adhered to card with 3D foam squares. Stamped the words using Just Rite Brayton alphabet set, using Versafine Blue Lagoon pad and clear embossing, then stamped the word "Cherries" (Curls Alphabet set) with Perfect Medium and embossing with white embossing powder. |
