I got this poinsettia (LR0122) set of dies from Marianne Design, so pretty, I had to use them right away... I die cut from decorative paper I had in my stash made from red cardstock, scrunched up, then lay flat and the high points hit with a pigment ink and then embossed with Queen's Gold. So with the scrunching of the cardstock the paper was nice and soft now.

I'm using an Xmas stamp from Quietfire Design

I side folded my cream card and ran through my machine with the Cuttlebug "Holly Ribbons" embossing folder, doing it on the horizontal and moving the die over to complete the card front. Hit the high points with Perfect Medium and embossed with Pearlescent embossing powder - gives such a rich tone to the background.

Stamped the Vines (Impression Obsession CAC Vines CC057) with Versafine Toffee on dark green cardstock and embossed with Queens Gold embossing powder. Trimmed down to size and adhered to card front. Adhered the metallic gold ribbon - love this ribbon.

Assembled my poinsettia and adhered to card, adding a black circle in the center of the flower... which you can't see because I then decided to add this large white half pearl. Die cut the leaves (Die-Namics "Royal Leaves" 5 pce die set) from some other decorative paper in my stash.

Stamped the sentiment on plain vellum using Perfect Medium and embossing with white. Die cut with Spellbinder circle die, then layered it onto a gold metallic paper (Paper Roots) die cut with one size large circle die.

Same cream cardstock and same technique for the background of the card front.

Wrote my word "Poinsettia" with a pointed pen and Sumi ink onto white cardstock, dried, shadowed with a yellow colored pencil and a pencil, then blended with my paper stump. Made a mask to cover the area then stamped the text background (Hero Arts "Collage Music Bkgr'd") with Versafine Black Onyx  and clear embossed. Sponged Distress Antique Linen and Old Paper with the mask in place. Distressed the edges with Tim's distresser and sponged some brown around the edges. Lay the Dreamweaver poinsettia stencil over the background and applied translucent paste. Let dry overnight. Sponged some Pine Needles, Aged Mahogany and a bit of the Gathered Twigs to make the clear embossed design stand out a bit more. (See detail pic below)

Cut the background about a quarter of the way down - wasn't large enough for my card, and adhered the two pieces on my card front leaving a space where the ribbon went. Adhered the ribbon.

Assembled my poinsettia. punched out a 3/4" circle, colored it yellow with Tim's Distress markers, and embossed with yellow embossing powder twice, sticking the pink button into the wet embossing. Adhered to center of poinsettia and then onto the card.
