I went to another quilling get together and had a very productive and wonderful time. The lavender florets on the card at left were done while I was waiting for my bus. That was a productive wait as well...

The ones on the lower card were done during our session and mostly assembled there too.

I'm using a sentiment from the Thank You set, part of the quote from the bees set as well as the tiny bee, and the other sentiment from the French set all from Quietfire Design

I created the quill strips just before leaving the house. Cut up a small piece of Canson Ingres paper in an off white, sponged Distress purples, applied some direct to paper, sprayed with Dylusions ink "Crushed Grape", Misted with water and sprayed with perfect Pearls "Perfect Pearls spray, then dried. Did the same on the back, then used my pasta machine on the Linguini setting and cut my strips. I love the variation of colors which you can't see in the image.

I also created the background using a Craft Concept "Debonair Edges" embossing folder. I cut it apart, taped it to a larger piece of cardstock to create a larger folder because I wanted the edging on the top as well as just above my calligraphy and I wanted the rectangle a bit lower than where it was going to land.... Part of it was done with my machine and some with my rubber mallet.

Sponged Distress Dusty Concord around the edges. Wrote in my word "Lavender" with a 3.8 Pilot Parallel Pen and a black ink cartridge in my funky lettering, adding some glue to the little squares and Ritz micro fine glitter "Lavender".

Adhered the quilled piece to a dark purple cardstock, then onto my white card. Stamped the word "Thanks" with Versafine Black Onyx.

Punched out the butterflies (Martha Stewart Around the page "Monarch Butterfly") from a decorated piece of paper in the yellow section and trimmed it from the paper, colored the body brown, applied glue and sprinkled Ritz micro fine glitter "Warm Highlights".

On this card I wrote in my word with a Pointed pen Nikko G nib and sumi ink, dried, shadowed with a yellow colored pencil and then with a 4B pencil and a paper stump. I then embossed the cardstock with the Sizzix "Wreath" set folder, sponged Distress Mustard Seed around the edges.

Stamped the French sentiment and part of the Hum of Bees quote with Versafine Black Onyx. also stamped the mini bees from the set with Versafine Toffee and added stripes with a black gel pen.

adhered the quilled piece to a pearlescent purple paper (Paper Roots stash) and then onto my white card.
