Els van de Burgt is coming up to Calgary at the end of October and will be teaching classes in Peel Offs, Shimmer Sheetz and various medias. Thought I'd make her a special Xmas card using Shimmer Sheetz.

I'm also using a tiny sentiment stamp from Quietfire Design

I used a Sizzix "Flower Petals & Center" poinsettia die and die cut white shimmer sheetz with the large petal, a pinky toned sheetz with the small petal and a red sheetz with the center. Ran the white petals through again with an embosing folder (Cuttlebug "Forest branches"), then used a paper stump on a piece of thick fun foam to shape them. Used Tim's tiny attacher to attach them to a 1 cardstock circle. Attached the smaller petals the same way. Then adhered them together with Golden's extra heavy gel medium. Shaped the red center petal and adhered that to the stack. When the gel was dry, punched a hole through the layers with my Big Bite and added a yellow brad. When the card was all assembled I added yellow dots of Liquid pearls over and around the brad.

The main card is white cardstock. Wrote my word "poinsettia" with a Nikko G nib and Sumi ink, exaggerating the thicks. Let it dry, then shadowed it with a pink Prisma colored pencil, blended that a bit and added a pencil shadow line, blended that with a paper stump. Added the word "A" and stamped the sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx.

Sponged around the edges with Distress Spun Sugar and then very lightly with Black Soot. Inked up an Xmas stamp (Fancy Pants "Blissful Season") using the red and brown again and misted lightly with water. Adhered my flower.

Stamped a text stamp using Distress Barn Door and Walnut Stain onto white cardstock. Clear embossed. Applied Distress Stains (Antique Linen, Scattered Straw & Forest Moss), misted with both water and Perfect pearls mist, dried. Die cut several leaves with Tim's Sizzix Tattered Leaves die. Brushed the edge of the leaves with the Walnut stamp pad. Adhered them around the flower.

Punched the butterfly from some scrap on my desk. Added Ritz micro fine glitter "Warm Highlights"
