MC Oct/11 - Leaves - A Shoulder
easel card
Created: October 29, 2011 One of the challenges this week is to use trees/leaves and I really love this leaves set ("Falling Leaves #SS078") from Flourishes. I'm also using a sentiment and quote stamp from Quietfire Design |
I cut a piece of white cardstock the
size of my card 5" x 7" and masked of my border area (1") with post
it notes. I applied some Distress colors on my craft mat (Forest
Moss, Dried Marigold, Barn Door & Mustard Seed). I then arranged all
the small leaves on an acrylic block and pressed them in the
various colors and stamped the border around the card. I then
stamped the same arranged stamps with Black Onyx Versafine pad. I
sponged some colors around the edges (Scattered Straw & Brushed
Corduroy). I removed the post it and arranged them along my border.
Sponged all the colors from my leaves, misted with water and dried.
Applied gold Peel Off lines. Stamped my quote with Versafine Vintage
Sepia and embossed with gold embossing powder. Adhered the real
leaf, that I had dried with my Lee Valley flower press, in the right
hand corner, using Golden's Matte Medium. adhered this panel to the
front of my easel card. Added the amber half pearls. Stamped the two larger leaves from the set, masking one of them. Painted those with watercolor and cut out the reddish one so I could bend it to become the stopper of the card. I also outlined the shadow area with an HB pencil and blended with a paper stump. I sponged the colors from the leaves on a scrap piece of white cardstock, misted with water, dried and die cut two leaves (Tim's Sizzix "Tattered Leaves" die). Adhered them together and stamped the sentiment with the Vintage Sepia, embossing with the gold, adhered to card. Sponged the edges with the Scattered Straw. Shadowed the leaves with the pencil. |
