One of the Flourishes challenges is "Double Embossing" - fun. I usually bypass the die cutting the masking layer and just use my hard rubber mallet. But it was a good exercise...

I've also wanted to do a background dedicated to green and blue - finally I did one. I usually sneak in other colors, but I resisted this time.

I'm using a sentiment from Quietfire Design

I squeezed out Distress Stains (Broken China, Peeled Paint & Shabby Shutters) onto 90# watercolor paper. Misted very heavily with water, tilted and played with my finger a bit... sopped up some of the wetness, then sprayed with Perfect Pearls "Sunflower Sparkle" and dried.

Die cut the Labels 18, double thickness, from 110# cardstock to use as my embossing mask. Sandwiched my background paper in my embossing folder (Cuttlebug Kassie's Brocade #200215), placed my mask on top, then ran through my machine. Then I placed the die in the section that stayed flat because of the mask and used my tan mat to emboss the edge of the die. Ran a Perfect Medium pad lightly over the high points and clear embossed. Stamped my sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx. Tore the edges of my background and distressed with Distress stamp pad Vintage Photo.

Cut, folded, spliced a side folded card. Layered a dark brown cardstock. Stamped the stitching (Tim's "Spring Sprung" set) with Perfect medium and embossed with white embossing powder. Adhered my background piece, added a piece of lace on the left side and 2 polymer buttons I made a while back, tied with brown embroidery floss.

Stamped the candles (Flourishes "Christmas Candles" #SS172) with the black on the watercolor paper, clear embossed, painted with watercolors and cut out. Adhered to card with pop dots. Added some gold glitter on the flames and some Liquid Pearls "Pearl White" on some of the leaves.
