ID: MC Mar 11 - Lace Flower - Leave Room card
5"w x 7"h

Created: March 12, 2011

I've recently been making flowers with rosettes and things and finding the papers I've been using haven't given me the look I really wanted. Then I thought why not use lace...

It uses a Quietfire Design quote

I did a running stitch on the edge of the lace, then gathered it up into a tight circle. One of them I also sewed the edges together, the other I didn't need to bother.

I also got these yummy Prima E. flowers in a white and yellow tint. Then I punched out a small Sakura flower from some leftover decorated paper I had on my desk. Layered everything together with some glue and then put a couple of stitches through it all and through my cardstock. I added a half pearl.

The card is a cream tone which I edged with an embossing folder (Sizzix Flowers #6 from the #656978 set) and my trusty rubber mallet.

The next two layers are a beautiful Dupioni silk in a golden color with a green tint that I picked up today - just gorgeous material at $30.00 a meter - but it was on special and I only bought a 1/2 meter. I adhered it to a piece of Heat 'n Bond with my iron, cut down to size and ironed it on to the olive cardstock.

I made a peg bow from this beautiful ribbon I picked up at the same time, attached the horizontal piece and sewed the bow to that. I think I was in a sewing mood - I normally just glue these things.

I stamped the quote with Versafine Black Onyx. Die cut the leaves (Marianne's Designs) from some Bazzill Monochromatic olive toned cardstock highlighted with Distress Pine Needles. Adhered it to the card.

Final touch were the rhinestone amber flower and the rhinestone dragonfly
