I love shabby chic and the look of vintage, but I have a hard time creating it. It doesn't come naturally to me. But there were a couple challenges that called for it, so I gave it a go again...

It uses one of Quietfire Design quote stamps Thanks from the Thank You set.

So I started by finding a piece of lace in my stash that I could use as a base. I have this wide gathered lace that is really pretty, but have a hard time in actually using it. I cut off the gather so it would lay flat. I sprayed adhesive to a cream toned cardstock that was a bit narrower than my lace and then stuck two pieces together. Some of the adhesive felt like it was poking through the lace, so I sprinkled clear glitter over it all. I layered this piece to a sage toned textured main card.

I did cut a large tag (Tim's Sizzix tag die) from cream toned cardstock, but found it to be too large for this card, so trimmed it down. Embossed with Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls embossing folder. Sponged direct to paper with the Sage and clear embossed it. The embossing went in to the spaces as well, but not as a complete coverage, so I sponged Walnut Stain over everything, which went in to the crevices very nicely. Gave it a very aged look which I really liked. I adhered the Spellbinders Lotus Pendant die cut that I had in my stash under the tag.

Rolled out some pearlized cream toned polymer clay to a thin setting of #5 on my pasta machine. Stamped my sentiment with Versafine Black Onyx and baked it in my toaster oven. I allowed it to go past the baking time and it started to get the variegated burnt coloring of this coppery tone. I pulled it out of the oven immediately and then let it cool down. Die cut most of it with a Spellbinders Labels Four die set. Finished off the die cut with an x-acto knife. Die cut the next size up from cream toned cardstock and sponged some Sage around the edges.

Stamped the pandas (Local King Rubber) on the cream cardstock using the black and then embossed with black embossing powder. Cut them out. Adhered them and the Thanks pieces to the tag.

Tied a peg bow from some checkered ribbon, attached it to the tag, adding a piece of green cotton twine.

I altered the pin. I picked up these pins eons ago and they have a doll at the head end. Didn't like that so turned it around and adhered my elephant (clear embossed) and leaves (EK Success border punch & hand veined with a black pen) to the backside, making it the front now... Inserted the pin into the ribbon. Hung the blue mother of pearl heart charm, attaching it to the bow. Adhered this assembly to the card at an angle. Final touch was to add the buttons - 3 very small green ones on the right top edge and one slightly larger one under the Thanks.
