One of the challenges I was entering asked for monochromatic in chocolate tones or to use chocolate... I recently picked up a bunch of Kanban papers/cardstock that's absolutely gorgeous and decided to use it. It definitely made this a quick and easy card.

This card also uses a quote stamp by Quietfire Design although I removed the original words "the teapot" and put in my own words "the chocolate" in my funky lettering. Sorry Suzanne, but I really needed it to be chocolaty.

The main card is, a side folded/spliced, cream toned like white chocolate - Yum.

I layered the paisley Kanban cardstock (Bella Mini Paisley - Chocolate CRD9999), punching the corners with a small circle punch. Adhere the polka dotted brown/white ribbon. Stamped the quote on another cream toned cardstock, using a stamp positioner so I could do one section at a time, then wrote in my funky lettered words. Die cut it with a Spellbinders Label die and sponged Brushed Corduroy around the edges. Adhered to card and add the faux stitching. Adhered the hot chocolate cup (Kanban "Coffee Shop" Paper Craft Toppers PCT9904). I added stickles Platinum dots at the punched out corners and a couple dotted swirls from the cup. (hard to see)

The buttons were a serendipitous result. I was playing with Polymer clay (Sculpey white) and ran the excess from the project I was working on using the Linguini setting on my pasta machine. Such great little ribbons of clay. I just started putting them on top of each other in singles and bunches in a weaving pattern, but not actually weaving. I gave such a really nice texture. So I rolled out another thin piece of clay and laid the weaving onto it, pressed down slightly to create a bond, then cut them out with the top of my glue stick into these great sized buttons. Added holes and baked. When cooled I painted with a dark brown acrylic paint all over, then wiped off the high points. I tied them with a very narrow polka dotted brown/white ribbon and adhered to the card with double sided tape.
