ID: MC Jan 11 - White - Vellum
Flowers
card
Created: January 3, 2011 I came across a blog Stamping and Stitching with a gorgeous floral wreath made by Heather Maria in Ireland. This is a take on those flowers. I didn't have the stamp she used so used one from a set by Autumn Leaves "Second Nature" #2516.
The Flourish in the background is from Quietfire Design. |
I created a Cricut image so I could cut out multiple flowers and not have to bother with hand cutting. I cut them from a pastel pale pink vellum, then stamped them with Brilliance White and embossed with Detail white embossing powder. I also cut between the flower petals so it could be shaped a bit. They're very delicate and crack/tear easily, but I used a large stylus on a piece of fun foam and carefully worked the vellum. I then punched out the center pieces (Fiskars medium sized squeeze punch) and thermal embossed with a white/silver/blue mix I had from eons ago. The main card is white cardstock which I stamped the flourish several times and embossed with the white. I wrote my quote with a Micron black pen in my funky monoline on a pearlized white vellum, then die cut it with a Sizzix Frame Back Ornate #2 die. Put a complete piece of Sookwang tape on the back so there would be no tell tale adhesive marks, then adhered it to the card. I cut the leaf sprig with my Cricut from cream toned cardstock, sprayed it with Permanent adhesive and sprinkled Ritz Micro Fine glitter "Stardust", then pressed the glitter into the adhesive with a piece of scrap release paper. Punched the butterfly (Martha Stewart Monarch), my most recent punch... from the same pinky vellum, then smeared it with Stickles Distress Picket Fence. Hard to see the glitter in the image. The flowers were assembled and then adhered to the card with Golden's Extra Heavy gel medium. As a final touch I added the gold rhinestones to the center of the flowers and the golden stamen to the butterfly. |
