There's a pre-release challenge on the Flourishes Blog to make a Valentine's card using the colors red, white & pink and gives you a chance to win all the January sets of rubber stamps coming out!!

You don't have to use Flourishes rubber stamps for the challenge, but I did use one for my background which you van vaguely see (if you squint real hard) in the images. It's a tone on tone using the Cherry Blossom set #97.

I also used a quote stamp on Shrink Plastic and Italic Caps alphabet set for the letters on the flower, both from Quietfire Design.

Now this started out to be a submission to Vamp Stamp News with the challenge of alcohol markers, and then I got side tracked...

I used Spellbinders oval and scalloped oval dies to cut out the floral scrapbook paper and the red background shape. Adhered them together, then stamped the letters with Versafine Black Onyx, and wrote my quote with a black Micron pen. Stacked them on top of each other and punched a whole for my very large white heart brad. As you can see by the images, the flower when sent will be semi closed and then can be opened to reveal my Love!!

I die cut 3 Elegant Flourishes (Tim's Sizzix die) from white cardstock and then embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, layered them on top of each other and cut off the excess.

I stamped the small outline floral sprig from the Cherry Blossom set using Versamagic Plum Plumeria on the pale pink textured cardstock. Adhered all my elements, and attached my shrunk plastic heart quote with some split rings. Then adhered this to my main white card.

The shrunk plastic was stamped with Versafine Black, cut out in the heart shape, sponged with Distress Worn Lipstick on the edges, large hole punched and then baked to shrink, then edged with Krylon Gold Leafing pen.
